Andrews University seeks Staff Counselor / Clinical Coordinator (Berrien Springs, MI)
Job Description: Provide counseling or psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups to assist in gaining insight into personal problems & define treatment goals. Assist Director of Counseling & Testing Center in providing oversight of all clinical operations in accordance with CTC procedures including providing general case management. Coordinate all first week of-school orientation activities and intern orientation/training. Assist with Titanium Schedule database management including setting up new users, password resets, generating usage statistics, etc. Participate in after-hours and weekend student crisis interventions. Select administer, and interpret psychological tests designed to assess individuals’ personality, intelligence, aptitudes, abilities, and interests. Complete special assessments (e.g., substance abuse assessment, risk assessment) as requested by various departments of the university. Present workshops/seminars to help individuals achieve more effective personal, spiritual, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment. Consult with other mental health professionals and/or medical doctors concerning treatment plan and/or medication evaluation. Refer clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling. Assess data gathered to develop treatment plans or referral to appropriate agencies. Oversee clinical trainee interns and limited licensed counselors (as licenses allow) and engage in peer supervision as needed. Assist the Director of Counseling & Testing Center with monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of services, educational programs, initiatives, and intervention strategies. Engage in research (using client satisfaction surveys, etc., to ensure that services provided meet the needs of the student body. In collaboration with the Director of Counseling & Testing Center provide leadership and expertise to the university community regarding issues that affect the educational, developmental and psychological well-being of students.
* Job Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counsel, or related and 2 years of related experience working with a college-age population which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Producing detailed reports and managing information within counseling or case-management database systems; Providing therapeutic interventions using short-term theories of counseling techniques; and Providing crisis intervention for non-suicidal-self-injury, suicidality and at-risk behaviors.
Position requires MI state Limited Licensed Counselor License OR Limited Licensed Counselor License eligible.
*Pay Range: $46,159.00 - $64,622.00 per YEAR
