Zaman's Rising Hope Bakery is seeking a skilled, dependable, and creative Baker to join our growing team. The Baker will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting high-quality breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about baking, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and contributes positively to a welcoming bakery atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Baking & Food Preparation
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and specialty baked goods according to recipes and production schedules.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
- Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, slicers, and dough sheeters safely and effectively.
- Decorate and finish baked products as needed.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure proper product quality.
- Assist with developing seasonal or specialty menu items.
Quality Control
- Ensure all baked goods meet company quality and presentation standards.
- Inspect ingredients and finished products for freshness and consistency.
- Maintain proper storage and rotation of ingredients and products using FIFO methods.
Sanitation & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
- Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation guidelines.
- Clean and sanitize baking equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Comply with workplace safety standards and procedures.
Inventory & Team Support
- Assist with inventory management and stock monitoring.
- Notify management of ingredient shortages or equipment issues.
- Work collaboratively with bakery staff to meet production goals and customer demands.
- Support front-of-house staff during busy periods if needed.
Qualifications
- Previous baking or food preparation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and production schedules accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced bakery environment.
- Exposure to heat, flour dust, and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Early morning and weekend shifts may be required.
