The Professional Group (TPG) is seeking a skilled Hardscape Foreman to join our growing team in Ann Arbor. This role is responsible for installing high-quality outdoor living features while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
This is a hands-on, outdoor position ideal for individuals with experience in construction, landscaping, or hardscaping who take pride in craftsmanship and teamwork.
Core Responsibilities
- Install Hardscape Features: Build patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, driveways, outdoor kitchens, and fire pits
- Site Preparation: Perform excavation, grading, and land clearing to ensure proper drainage and stable foundations
- Material Handling: Lay pavers and stone, apply bedding/joint sand, and assist with concrete mixing and pouring
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret landscape designs and construction drawings to execute projects accurately
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate skid steers, mini-excavators, plate compactors, and masonry saws
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Maintain tools/equipment and resolve installation issues in the field
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Lift and carry materials 50–80 lbs regularly
- Perform physically demanding tasks (bending, kneeling, lifting, standing for extended periods)
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3+ years in hardscaping, landscaping, or general construction
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of grading, drainage, and hardscape materials
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license required (CDL or equipment certifications a plus)
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work on a team
Pay Rate based on experience
- Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
