Responsible for maximizing the efficiency of equipment, tooling, and personnel; having knowledge and use of General Motors proprietary APS and STDS systems for manufacturing process planning and development; maximizing productivity and eliminating redundant or inefficient processes; optimizing direct labor within the General Assembly processes week; providing process validation and corrective actions to ensure adherence to standardized work; developing Lean and efficient workstations that minimize non-value added activities; optimizing facilities, production, and service locations to reduce inefficiencies; coordinating material flow and material replenishment methods with MP&L department; designing and implementation of material storage, containerization, and material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment; responsible for Plan for Every Part (PFEP) development; fork truck and material handling equipment utilization and optimization; utilize and apply knowledge of AutoCAD, Creo, Ansys, SQL, C++, Minitab, CMMS-MVP One, Shiftworx freepoint, ERP, QMS, MES, and Siemens Teamcenter to accomplish necessary tasks; line stocking requirements and material presentation in assembly cells; kitting and supermarket strategies to support production; containerization and dunnage specifications and recommendations; responsible for WIP analysis and reduction; designing of material pull systems (kanban); determining appropriate min/max level for warehousing of parts to support an assembly process; and working with cross functional teams on Automation & Optimization projects for assigned areas.
Location: Lake Orion, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;
Salary: $104,000 per year;
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above as a Lead Engineer, as a Production Engineer, or in a related occupation;
