Job Title: TIG Welder/Fitter
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder/Fitter to join our team and contribute to the creation of mechanical lift assists. The ideal candidate will have experience in TIG welding and be familiar with basic shop machinery. You will be responsible for building products from start to finish, such as lift tables and carts, in a world-renowned supplier of ergonomic material handling equipment. The work environment is new, clean, and offers significant autonomy in your role.
Responsibilities
Mock-up/jig a series of parts together to tack and final weld.
Complete the fit and fabrication of entire products, not piece work.
Essential Skills
Ability to read blueprints.
MIG, TIG, and gas welding capabilities.
Capability to check own work against prints and meet ISO procedures.
Must have own tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
AWS certification is a plus.
Knowledge of basic shop machinery such as cut-off saws, drill presses, press brakes, etc.
TIG Welder/Fitter with 3 years of experience.
Can read a blueprint, TIG weld to print on steel, stainless, and aluminum.
Can use micrometers and vernier calipers.
Ability to operate a TIG and MIG welder.
Can weld overhead and vertical.
Can do own setups to weld parts to print.
Can read weld symbols.
Can fit parts and fabricate.

Work Environment
The position is based in a 10-year-old facility in immaculate condition. As a machine shop, it is clean by industry standards but candidates should be comfortable with the possibility of getting dirty and working in a louder environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
