Job Description
The SRT Motorsports Project Engineer is responsible for managing various technical projects across the SRT Motorsports programs. The candidate will coordinate with cross-functional teams, including vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, electrical, and mechanical design, to establish development timelines to meet all functional objectives and program deadlines. Further responsibilities include analyzing and mitigating the impact of engineering and program requests on overall vehicle performance. The Project Engineer also leads coordination of activities with multiple external stakeholders and must be confident providing updates to senior management regarding the state of the program.
This development work involves significant coordination between engineering offices and track environments, with travel required to test locations and race events as both schedule and competition needs dictate. Travel is mostly domestic within North America but can also be international.
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Provide guidance to design and engineering teams to develop mechanical and electrical architectures which support motorsports program targets
Lead development activities including testing and assessment of vehicle-level function to ensure alignment with performance targets across aerodynamics, dynamics, and electrical systems
Responsible for the project management of mechanical and electromechanical components and systems to achieve functional attribute targets
Manage technical projects spanning vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, electrical, and mechanical design disciplines
Work closely with suppliers and partners to drive changes required to complete the tuning and integration of all systems
Support all active engineering teams in development/implementation/testing of hardware and supporting software through data acquisition systems
Coordinate development of state-of-the-art prototype solutions for competition vehicles
Work closely with chassis and electrical team members to develop seamless integration between mechanical and electrical subsystems

Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
8 years of related engineering experience in automotive or motorsports environments
Excellent knowledge of vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, and mechanical design
Excellent knowledge and understanding of vehicle electrical systems
Experience with requirements management and project management tools
Effective project management, organizational, and teamwork skills
Data logging and analysis using industry-standard tools
Valid US driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Specific professional motorsports experience.
Mechatronics based skills/experience/education.
Self-starter with strong communication skills.
Microsoft Office tools
CAD/CAE Software experience
