Description
Opportunity: This position is primarily responsible for managing the sales and marketing of Compass Mineral's consumer and industrial (C&I) salt products in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah. Products include water care, animal nutrition, food grade, and chemical salt products, both branded and private label, via packaged and bulk end uses.
What You'll Do:
Meet or exceed budgeted volume and margin (price) objectives.
Establish and maintain key customer relationships and grow customer base within the assigned territory.
Create and implement sales and marketing plans for territory including planning, promotions, pricing strategies and budget preparation.
Works collaboratively with Business Mgt., Planning, Logistics and Customer Service to assure product availability and customer satisfaction.
Communicate territory volume demand utilizing established forecasting systems and techniques.
Manage and monitor sales opportunity pipeline using CRM tool (salesforce.com).
Consistently evaluates territory demand to accurately forecast volumes that impact the overall business.
Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals; Understands organization's strengths & weaknesses.
Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Meets or exceeds commitments
What you bring :
Basic
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 years of outside sales/account management experience preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PC skills. Prior experience with CRM systems, JDE/Oracle ERP or data warehouses a plus. Preferred Systems Experience
