We are hiring a cashier position to perform clerical tasks associated with community pharmacy practice, including greeting patrons, performing cash and charge transactions, preparing cash outs and deposits, and general store merchandising.
General Cashier duties may include:
- Cashier Associate:
- Cashier Intermediate:
- Performs a variety of clerical duties to receive and disburse cash from and to customers and employees.
- Posts transactions, counting money, issues change, cashes checks, prepares deposit slips and balances accounts.
- Duties and tasks are varied and may be somewhat complex. Resolves most questions and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. Works under minimal supervision.
- Assists with general store merchandising.
- Other duties and projects assigned by supervisor
Ability to perform a wide range of physical activity: lifting, pulling, bending, manual dexterity movements. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize with accuracy and dependability: Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English. Must exhibit good communication skills in dealing with patients and/or families, who may have compromised health or language barriers and with other members of the health care team. Be adaptable to diverse patient care environments. Exhibit strong attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work independently
- Cashier Associate:
- 0 - 2 years of professional experience. Entry level for degreed individuals, or equivalent combination.
- Knows fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of field of specialization.
- Cashier Intermediate:
- 2 or more years of experience in a cashier position.
- Apply advanced skills appropriate for the position within assigned functional area to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
- Demonstrated record of excellence with direct customer interaction and collaboration with a team.
This is a full-time position. Hours depend on the community pharmacy operational hours. Shifts start as early as 830am and end as late as 600pm. Rotation among work locations may be required based on operational needs. The locations for which the employee may rotate through include Brighton Center for Specialty Care, East Ann Arbor Health Center, Taubman Center, Rogel Cancer Center, and Kellogg Eye Center.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
