We are seeking a friendly, dependable Bakery Merchandiser to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with fresh, high quality baked gooods and providing outstanding customer service in a welcoming, community-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and making product recommendations
- Package, label, and stock fresh baked goods including breads, pastries, cookies and specialty items
- Maintain attractive and fully stocked bakery displays throughout the day
- Assist with basic bakery production tasks as needed (filling, icing or finishing products)
- Operate slicers and other bakery equipment safely
- Take customer orders for cakes and specialty items
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with store policies and health regulations
- Monitor product freshness and rotate items to ensure quality
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- No experience necessary, we will train the right candidate
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs
- Bending, reaching, and repetitive motion
Schedule
- Part-time hours (typically 24-28 hours per week)
- Most shifts are 11am-5pm, availability required for weekends
