Position summary:
Supervises clinical staff and manages processes that govern assigned rehabilitation departments. Supervises the daily operations of assigned rehabilitation departments. In collaboration with the manager, supervises all human resource management functions (including staffing, hiring, disciplinary and terminating), purchasing and finance functions, timecard approval, financial recovery tasks, patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, as well as other administrative duties. Assists with the planning, development and implementation of department programs, services and systems. In collaboration with the manager, assures all regulatory standards are met for clinical care and documentation. In addition to supervisor duties, there is also an expectation for clinical work where applicable and needed.
Minimum qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational program in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology related field.
Preferred: Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy; Master's degree in Occupational Therapy; or Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Minimum: State of Michigan Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy license.
Minimum: 1-year informal leadership experience in a Rehabilitation clinic.
Preferred: 3 years in a leadership role (formal or informal) in a Rehabilitation clinic.
What the Rehab Supervisor will do:
Supervises daily operations of assigned rehabilitation department, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Athletic Therapy, Physician & Therapy Wound Clinics, and Hyperbaric Clinics in addition to Rehab Business Office Assistants (in the absence of the Rehab Business Office Manager) such as staffing and directing colleagues and workflow.
Monitor and determines if all regulatory standards are met for clinical care including documentation and Joint Commission requirements.
Review and implement safety standards for the Hyperbaric chambers ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
Responsible for taking on-call rotation with rehab leaders for rehabilitation services as needed.
Collaborate with manager to revise safety standards.
Completes patient care as needed by department due to staffing restrictions.
