Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support a busy automotive manufacturing environment in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys managing customer payments, maintaining accurate records, and keeping receivables organized in a fast-paced setting. The person in this role will work closely with internal teams to monitor account activity, address outstanding balances, and provide timely updates to leadership.
Responsibilities:
Prepare proforma billing documents in Excel with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Maintain daily tracking of shipments and incoming payments to ensure records remain current and complete.
Provide customers or internal stakeholders with invoice documentation and payment records when requested.
Apply incoming cash receipts, reconcile transactions, and clear payments within the accounting process.
Follow up on overdue balances and manage collection efforts until accounts are brought to resolution.
Share regular status updates with management regarding payment activity, aging trends, and account issues.
Support ongoing accounts receivable operations by assisting teammates with related tasks and priorities.
Use systems and reporting tools, including SAP and Excel, to manage cash activity and account documentation effectively. Requirements - At least 2 years of accounts receivable experience, with 3 or more years strongly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and invoice-related tasks.
Experience with cash applications, cash activity, and commercial collections processes.
Ability to manage past-due accounts and communicate professionally regarding payment follow-up.
Familiarity with SAP or a similar ERP system used in accounting or receivables functions.
Background in the automotive industry is preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
