Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift
Job Description
This 2nd shift Maintenance Technician role focuses on performing preventive and corrective maintenance on plastic injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment in a high-volume automotive manufacturing facility. You will work with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to keep injection molding machines, process water systems, compressed air systems, and automated paint lines operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and inspections on plastic injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment.
Install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment involving hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems within an injection molding manufacturing facility.
Work on grinders, presses, heaters, dryers, cranes, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and repair issues with 3-phase motors and 480V electrical systems.
Use electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Interpret and work from schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to perform maintenance and repairs.
Support and maintain process water systems, compressed air systems, and automated paint lines.
Perform industrial maintenance tasks including machine repair, electrical maintenance, and mechanical adjustments.
Assist with continuous improvement and kaizen initiatives by maintaining an organized work area and identifying opportunities for equipment and process improvements.
Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
Follow safety procedures and best practices while working with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Essential Skills
4+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
4+ years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
4+ years of machine or repair experience in an automotive or industrial setting.
Experience working in a plastics or injection molding environment.
4+ years of hydraulic and electrical experience.
4+ years of machine repair experience.
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with 3-phase power and 480V systems.
Mechanical troubleshooting experience with industrial machinery and equipment.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on industrial equipment.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Experience with motors, industrial maintenance, and maintenance repair in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Ability to troubleshoot and work with PLC-controlled equipment.
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC control systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
PLC troubleshooting experience.
Prior experience in an injection molding environment.
Experience in automotive manufacturing or Tier 1 supplier environments.
Comfort working with automated paint lines and auxiliary manufacturing equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
Willingness to work overtime as needed to support production demands.

Work Environment
This role is based in a large, high-volume injection molding and automotive manufacturing facility that produces dashboards and interior trim components. The environment reflects a typical injection molding and automotive plant, which can become warm in the summer and can be somewhat dirty due to the heavy use of the injection molding area. Despite the demanding production setting, the facility is highly organized, driven by a strong focus on continuous improvement and kaizen. You will work with injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, process water systems, compressed air systems, and automated paint lines. The position is on 2nd shift, working Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with an expectation of 5-10+ hours of overtime typical for the automotive industry.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
