Human Resources Director
Position Summary
The Human Resources Director is a key member of the leadership team responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies that support Vantage Plastics’ mission, culture, and long-term business objectives.
This role oversees talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, compensation strategy, training and development, payroll administration, 401(k) administration, workers’ compensation administration and compliance with employment laws.
The position plays a critical role in fostering a high-performing workforce, strengthening the company’s culture, and ensuring that Vantage Plastics remains an employer of choice in the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the senior leadership team and help shape the strategic direction of the company.
- Develop and execute human resource strategies that align with the company’s mission, vision, and growth objectives.
- Lead workforce planning initiatives to ensure the organization has the talent needed to support future growth.
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, onboarding, and integration.
- Develop and implement employee engagement strategies that strengthen retention, morale, and productivity.
- Design and administer performance management systems including performance evaluations, leadership coaching, and career development planning.
- Manage employee relations including counseling, conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, recommend, and implement company personnel policies and maintain the employee handbook.
- Oversee employee benefits programs including evaluation, vendor relationships, claims resolution, and program improvements.
- Lead compensation strategy including benchmarking, salary structure recommendations, and incentive planning.
- Analyze HR metrics including turnover, recruitment effectiveness, and workforce trends to guide decision making.
- Support workplace safety initiatives and collaborate with leadership to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Oversee payroll administration and compliance adhering to federal, state, and local regulations regarding employee compensation, tax withholding, and record-keeping.
- 401(k) administration and compliance, including managing the retirement plan according to IRS and ERISA regulations. Key components will include, participant management, contribution processing, plan document maintenance and fiduciary responsibility.
- Manage full lifecycle of work-related injuries, including but not limited to reporting, claims management and return to work program. Works in conjunction with the Safety Manager on OSHA reporting and prevention.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of progressive human resources leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience leading HR initiatives in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional HR certification such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SHRM-CP.
- Experience implementing employee engagement and leadership development programs.
- Experience supporting lean manufacturing environments.

Additional Information
This is an FLSA exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience, education, and leadership ability.
