JOB SUMMARY
The teacher is expected to provide instruction to elementary students in various subject areas according to the Michigan Conference and the North American Division of Seventh-Day Adventists religious academic curriculum, to provide spiritual leadership and supervision to the student population on the school campus, and to promote the overall religious tenor and spiritual climate of the institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Provides specific instruction to 5th and 6th grades students in bible and other subject areas such as math, science, language arts, social studies, and physical education.
- Prepares course materials, plans for classes, and participates in faculty meetings.
- Evaluates student work and provides advice, feedback, and guidance to parents about student coursework.
- Coordinates daily worship services and devotions, and outreach opportunities for students specifically designed to stimulate students’ interest in spiritual matters.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors in education, or related, or foreign equivalent; two (2) years’ experience as an elementary teacher or related and NAD Teaching Certification in Elementary Education.
Alternative Job Requirements:
Bachelor's in Mathematics, Science, Accounting, or related, NAD Teaching Certification in Elementary Education, with two (2) years’ experience teaching mathematics, science, and English.
