DESCRIPTION:
Join our Supply Chain team as a Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler III at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll contribute to optimizing production schedules and inventory management to support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. In this role, you'll develop and maintain production plans that balance customer demand with manufacturing capacity, while ensuring efficiency and resource utilization. You'll work collaboratively with Planning, Operations, Quality, Procurement, Project Management and contract manufacturing teams to support schedule stability and continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires strong analytical skills and strategic thinking to optimize complex manufacturing processes while maintaining high service levels and managing inventory targets.
REQUIREMENTS:
Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in manufacturing planning/scheduling in a production environment
Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field
APICS certification (CPIM/CSCP) preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle E1 preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong understanding of MRP principles, capacity planning, and inventory management
Experience with Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP/S&OP) processes
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and optimize production schedules for efficiency
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Strong collaborative and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
Experience with production scheduling software and manufacturing execution systems
Strong problem-solving abilities and process improvement mindset
Knowledge of GMP and quality systems preferred
Project management experience preferred
Ability to work independently
Experience guiding schedule adherence and resolving conflicts
Experience developing and maintaining planning parameters and master data
Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics reporting
