Why This Role Matters
You are often the first and most frequent point of contact for patients. Your professionalism, technical expertise, and compassion directly influence patient experience, specimen quality, and diagnostic accuracy-making you a vital part of the healthcare delivery process.
What You'll Do
Perform venipuncture and capillary collections, including pediatric, geriatric, forensic, and clinical specimens
Prepare, label, process, and package specimens accurately for laboratory testing
Verify patient identification and demographics, ensuring proper labeling and documentation at time of collection
Create a welcoming, professional environment while explaining procedures and easing patient concerns
Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of patient information
Follow all established policies, procedures, safety standards, and compliance requirements
Support operations across Patient Service Centers and in-office locations as needed, including floating between sites
Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting with minimal supervision
What We're Looking For
A current, up-to-date resume
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required; 1-3+ years preferred depending on skill level
Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry and documentation skills
Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between locations with minimal notice (as applicable)
Availability to work flexible schedules, including part-time or full-time shifts, weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
Ability to meet compliance requirements
