POSITION OVERVIEW:
Enjoy helping people? Are you someone who takes pride in helping and caring for others? We have an ideal position as a Mental healthcare support worker for you!
Responsibilities include, not limited to assisting and caring for patients in a fast-paced and dynamic Mental Health environment working with special needs young adults. You will be expected to coach, support, and help with daily ADLs, ensuring that each patient is provided a d safe area be comfortable in. Healthcare support workers will assist housing manager and other staff with day-to-day operational tasks.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Superior communication skills
- Compassion and natural ability to support and guide someone.
- Excellent bedside manners and etiquette
- Ability to analyze basic medical information and data.
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Willingness to always maintain a professional demeanor.
- Prior experience in a hospital, home health, or clinical environment
- Ability to work with other employees to achieve various goals.
- Understanding of medical confidentiality laws and practices
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist patients with basic hygiene activities.
- Open to part time and full time (Flex Schedule) good work life balance.
- Coach and assist patients.
- Provide safe and comfortable environment.
- Monitor behaviors and work with housing managers on any concerns you may see.
- Make life better for someone else by having activities such as color in coloring books, playing board games, going for walks, and have a goal each day of providing fun and making a positive impact to someone who is special needs.
- Give back by offering help to someone and feel good about your day and what you accomplished all while having fun.
- Be diligent with documentation of patient information on daily logs.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals such as nurses, physicians, and therapists to provide patients with exceptional care.
- Comply with all hospital rules, regulations, and procedures.
EDUCATION:
- High school or diploma, G. E. D.
