Seasonal laborers must be at least 18 years of age.
Seasonal laborers must pass a Michigan Department of Transportation Physical. This physical will be required for those chosen for hire and will be arranged and paid for by the Oscoda County Road Commission before starting employment.
Seasonal laborers must have a valid Michigan driver’s license (this is a must-have)
Seasonal laborers will be paid $18.00 per hour.
Seasonal laborers will work Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day or overtime as needed.
Starting time of work – 6 am.
Ending time of work – 4:30 pm.
Seasonal laborers will receive no benefits (no paid holidays, vacation pay, or health insurance paid) except for ESTA (Earned Sick Time Act). Seasonal laborers earn one hour for every 30 hours worked. However, the waiting period to use it is 120 days. Since your employment will probably be shorter than that, you might not be able to use it unless you are hired again.
Seasonal laborers will be paid one (1) 15-minute break in the morning (coffee break, rest, etc.)
Seasonal laborers will be permitted to take a 30-minute break at 12 pm (not paid)
Seasonal laborers must wear safety shoes/boots (not supplied) during working hours.
Seasonal laborers will be provided with vision and hearing protection along with an approved hard hat, safety vest, and gloves.
