Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required. Upon employment, candidate MUST be willing to enrolled in a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential program upon employment and successfully complete the certification within two (2) year of employment, per the Head Start Act.

Must be able to meet physical demands of job.

Valid Michigan Driver’s License and reliable transportation required.
Performance Standards:

Assist in providing children with developmentally experiences in approaches to learning. social, emtional, language and literacy, cognitive and perpceptual, motor and physical development. In an environment of multi-cultural experiences through daily lesson plans and classroom activities. To make appropriate referrals for follow up of children as needed which includes children with special needs.ld Observation Record (COR) system.

Assist classroom teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans which includes individualization for children with an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Assist classroom teacher in documenting children's educational experience in the Child Observation Record (COR).

Maintain constant active supervision with all children in the classroom.

Carry out all other duties as directed by supervisor.
Physical Description:
Must carried and lifted 26-50 lbs.
Sit 1 hour; Stand 2 hours; Walk 4 hours; Bend/Stoop 1 hours
Crawl in classroom/activities with children and parents; Reach Above to get books/supplies; Crouch low files, mailbox, working with children; Balancing and Squat with children; Climb stairs, Shoulder level to get book/supplies; Kneel speaking/working with children, Pushing carts of supplies, files, donations etc.
