Position Description
The Receiving, Inventory Manager is responsible for endtoend materials management, including purchasing, inbound logistics, inventory accuracy, storage, and material flow. This role ensures materials are sourced, received, stored, and issued accurately and costeffectively while maintaining strong supplier relationships, inventory controls, and system integrity. The position is critical in supporting production continuity, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Execute daytoday purchasing activities for raw materials, components, supplies, and services
Create and manage purchase orders in the ERP system in accordance with demand, inventory levels, and approved suppliers
Maintain supplier relationships and communicate delivery schedules, changes, and performance expectations
Monitor pricing, lead times, and minimum order quantities to support cost and inventory optimization
Resolve supplier issues related to delivery, quality, pricing discrepancies, and shortages
Collaborate with Operations, Planning, and Finance on forecasting, budgeting, and material availability
Oversee daily receiving operations, including unloading, inspection, and verification of purchased materials
Verify receipts against purchase orders and packing slips; ensure timely and accurate system transactions
Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to resolve damages, shortages, and incorrect shipments
Schedule inbound deliveries to support production and warehouse capacity
Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP/WMS systems
Establish and enforce inventory control procedures, including cycle counts and physical inventories
Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions
Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production and minimize excess or obsolete stock
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and traceability of materials
Support timely issuing of materials to production and other departments
Supervise, train, and support receiving and inventory personnel
Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, supplier performance, and inventory accuracy
Develop, document, and maintain SOPs related to purchasing, receiving, and inventory control
Support internal and external audits related to inventory, purchasing, and quality
Required Education & Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
2-5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or warehouse operations
Experience with ERP systems and purchase order management
Strong Excel and datatracking skills
Supervisory or lead experience
