Job Summary
The Lab Assembly Technician - eMobility supports the assembly of prototype devices, harnesses, and test samples for advanced electrified vehicle programs. This hands-on role works closely with engineers and lab staff to build, prepare, and document assemblies used in testing and validation activities. The position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow engineering instructions in a laboratory environment.
Job Responsibilities
Assemble prototype devices and subassemblies for eMobility testing and customer-related engineering activities
Cut, strip, and prepare electrical cables, including large-gauge wire
Assemble electrical connectors, terminals, seals, and housings according to engineering instructions
Operate ultrasonic welding equipment to attach terminals to cables
Support crimping operations using lab-based crimping tools and equipment
Build test samples based on engineering drawings, work instructions, and test requests
Perform basic visual inspections and assist with dimensional checks
Label, organize, and track prototype parts and assemblies
Follow all laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines
Collaborate with engineers and lab personnel to meet testing schedules and project deadlines
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical assembly
Comfortable using hand tools and bench-top equipment
Ability to read and follow work instructions and engineering drawings
Willingness to work in a lab environment with strict safety procedures
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Work Experience
Prior experience in mechanical or electrical assembly preferred
