Machine Builder, Grand Rapids
Job Description
This position is for a 1st shift Machine Builder Electrician, working from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and completing 8-10 hour shifts. The role requires some travel, approximately 10%-15%, to assist with customer integration.
Perform electrical assembly, wiring, and integration of industrial automation and manufacturing equipment.
Assemble and wire electrical control panels, including mounting components like PLCs, relays, and circuit breakers according to layouts.
Install field devices such as sensors, motors, and actuators directly onto the machine frame.
Read and interpret complex electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics to guide the build process.
Conduct continuity and voltage tests to ensure the machine is wired correctly and functions safely before being shipped to customers.
Occasionally travel to customer sites to assist with the final installation, startup, and "runoff" of the equipment.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in Machine Wiring
5+ years of experience in reading Schematics
5+ years of experience in Panel Building
Willingness to travel 10%-15%
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in machine building, electrical assembly, and schematic reading
Experience with electrical machine building, blueprint reading, and industrial wiring
Ability to install and pull wiring, as well as assemble components

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $66560.00/yr.
