The focus of this position is to setup, operate, and troubleshoot various types of plastic and metal processing machinery in a safe and efficient manner while producing product quality that meets all customer and internal standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shall promote safe and good work habits by example. Follow all plant safety rules and regulations. Immediately report unsafe working conditions or equipment. Maintain work areas in a clean and safe manner.
- Notify Production Manager or Production Supervisor of any operations that failed or experienced problems. Ensure maintenance work orders are issued when appropriate. Follow up as necessary if maintenance problems are re-occurring.
- Attend Company meetings when in the plant or as directed. Attend and participate in Work cell meetings as an active member of the production team.
- Maintain an open mind to change and improvements. Participate in problem solving activities as required in any area of the plant. Actively seek assistance with production or processing problems when needed.
- Understand process work-flow in the plant. Read and follow Router instructions and be able to complete all processing documentation. Input and retrieve required lot information on the AS400 mainframe system to make route cards.
- Understand and use a variety of micrometers, calipers, and hand-held gages.
- Understand and use the “Suspect Material” process as necessary.
- Access and navigate through company procedures on the computer intranet.
- Responsibilities on a daily basis with little to no supervision includes but not be limited to.
- Pull tubs out from under molders
- Make sure molders have material and notify closest Level 3 or Level 5 operator if running out (Note: Level 1 Class 2 operators shouldnt be making desission on what material to add to machines unless told to by Level 3 or Level 5 operator)
- Load/Unload tumblers
- Feed trees into regrinders
- Empty regrind out from under regrinders and put in designated containers
- Set up and use spiral sorters correctly
- Load/Unload shaker sorters
- Load/Unload rail sorters
- Load/Unload burr benches (Note: that has been approved by a Level 3 or Level 5 operator that the polishing is complete)
- Load/Unload pack sorters
- Use weigh scales for appropriate load sizes
- Fill out the required information on the route card
- Enter production into the AS400 and move product to the next operation per router
- Follow route card pull size instruction to keep lapping machines running to proper size when timer runs out by checking balls with a low pressure micrometer (Note: Level 1 Class 2 operators shouldn’t load/unload laps?)
- Load/Unload dryer units
- Move product throughout the plant as needed with hand truck
- Other duties you may be asked to complete will include but not be limited to
- Sweep
- Mop
- Dust
- Perform other duties as assigned.
