Our client, a global automotive OEM and mobility technology leader , is seeking an Emissions Lab Hardware Engineer to join their team. As an Emissions Lab Hardware Engineer, you will be part of the Emissions & Regulatory Compliance Department supporting Emissions Testing, Analytical Bench, and Chassis Dynamometer Teams . The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication , which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Emissions Lab Hardware Engineer
Location: Chelsea, MI
Pay Range: $43 per hour
What's the Job?
Lead troubleshooting of emissions analytical benches, secondary sampling systems, and chassis dynamometers
Support setup, execution, and monitoring of regulated emissions tests to ensure procedural and regulatory compliance
Perform quality control checks, calibrations, verifications, and audits of emissions measurement equipment
Analyze emissions and test data to validate results, identify trends, and investigate anomalies
Provide technical guidance to union technicians during equipment maintenance and repair activities
What's Needed?
M
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Automotive, or related field) or equivalent experience
Hands-on experience with emissions analytical benches, secondary sampling systems, and chassis dynamometers
Strong understanding of emissions testing principles, sampling methodologies, and measurement systems
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and system-level issues independently
Experience working in a unionized laboratory or test environment
