ABOUT THE ROLE
Lead and responsible for the organization's energy management activities for all locations in North America. Analyze consumption/usage and implement strategies to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. Key responsibilities include managing utility power procurement, developing sustainability initiatives, forecasting energy budgets, performing tariff reviews, hedging to limit price risk, and energy contract negotiations.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Develop and manage the organization's energy budget, which includes tracking energy consumption and costs and budget forecasting, and advises on energy commodity purchasing.
Creates internal policies and procedures to optimize the energy-efficient use and operations of the organization's facilities and equipment.
Have a keen knowledge and have experieince participating in regioinal ISOs such as PJM, MISO,ERCOT, etc.
Understanding of financial and physical energy market pricing and experience with purchasing / hedging future markets
Act as lead negotiator to execute complex power contracts with large cross-functional teams that optimise benefits to the operating company (e.g. performance-based contracts) while implementing contracts in business units.
In depth knowledge of fuel markets, specifically natrual gas, that will drive energy costs
Drive, develop and execute negotiation strategy with suppliers while managing supplier performance on a structured basis.
Lead cross-functional teams through supplier selection and recommendation activities, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, selection criteria, RFI, and RFP development and analysis. Provide subject matter expertise while working with stakeholders and Legal in the negotiation of vendor contracts.
Maintains central energy database that includes utility and operational data; oversees energy data entry and energy data analysis activities, including oversight of energy management and information systems.
Identify programs to participate in to assist in reducing cost or obtaining benefits pending sites' flexibilty.Example: load shedding, demand response, etc.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal senior stakeholders (such as Directors, VP, CEO's and Executives), key suppliers, and third-party sourcing partners to enable accelerated achievement of business objectives.
Achieve targets for strategic sourcing activities; spend coverage, compliance rates and benefits generation, track implementation, compliance and benefits against targets of selected categories.
Identify potential cost savings, spend reduction, supplier consolidation and standardization opportunities in assigned Categories.
Develops and maintains contact with federal and state agencies and monitors state and national energy policy trends.
Tracks, analyzes, and acts on state and federal energy legislation and regulations that impact the organization.
Attends training sessions, conferences, and workshops to keep abreast of current practices, programs, and legal issues
Define benefit targets and ensure targets and Key Performance Indicators are achieved on a set portfolio of spend categories.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degreeField of Study Preferred: 8-12 years experience
-Minimum 5 years in procurement role (category management, sourcing, operations) with exposure to supply chain management, strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes and standards -Energy background and experience highly preferred
Required Work Experience: Purchasing, Business, or Management
Required Computer and Software Skills: Proficient/Advanced Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel and PPT; Google Mail and Drive; basic SAP knowledge or equivalent
Travel Requirements: 30%
