Vehicle Energy Model Development Intern (Internship - Summer 2026)
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Vehicle Energy Model Development Intern to support the development of a core vehicle modeling environment to enable rapid analysis of critical vehicle functional objectives including fuel economy, longitudinal performance, launch on grade capability, towing performance, and track performance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Assist with the development of tools used to analyze core vehicle functional objectives including fuel economy, longitudinal performance, launch on grade capability, towing performance, and track performance
Define and implement proper version control for tool development
Develop and refine user interface for efficiency design tool
Produce and deliver executive-level presentations on key project milestones/achievements and provide actionable insights and recommendations for product improvements
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields
Foundational knowledge of electrified propulsion system electric motors, power conversion systems, high voltage batteries, engines, transmissions, charging electronics, and control systems
Demonstrated experience in automotive powertrain core model development and refinement including version control and user interface development using MATLAB/Simulink
Strong written and verbal communication skills
