General Purpose
The Utility Worker will assist in the efficient operation of the Printing Department, Cutting Department, and Die Room, and the organization of its holding areas. This position will also set up and utilize air-operated stripping tools to remove waste from printed, die-cut sheets.
Essential Job Functions
\u2022 Sets up and utilizes air-operated stripping tool.
\u2022 Removes scrap board from die-cut sheets.
\u2022 Deposits scrap in baler.
\u2022 Stacks die-cut blanks on skids for gluer operations.
\u2022 Exercises care in stacking carton blanks on skids to prevent carton mix-ups.
\u2022 Pushes out internal scrap from cut blanks when necessary, using die hammer and wood punches.
\u2022 Operates power baler to compress scrap board and paper into bales.
\u2022 Operates forklift to move skidded stock into position for stripping.
\u2022 Performs routine and preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment.
\u2022 Informs the stripping lead when supplies or parts are required.
\u2022 Responsible for timely and accurate completion of the quality checklist for each job.
\u2022 Moves and organizes stock in the holding areas
\u2022 Un-bands and removes plastic wrap from skids
\u2022 Pulls in stock behind presses and die cutters
\u2022 Assembles incoming dies from vendors
\u2022 Fills in for Press Assistant
\u2022 Fills out all appropriate documentation.
\u2022 Cleans up holding areas
\u2022 Operates Aerator when required
\u2022 Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions
\u2022 Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties
\u2022 Performs other job duties as assigned
What You Need to Succeed
\u2022 Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid forklift operator license.
\u2022 Must be able to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, procedures and work instructions.
\u2022 Must pass color vision test.
\u2022 Must be able to maintain good attendance.
\u2022 Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
\u2022 Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
