Our client, the healthcare industry, is seeking a Pharmacy Claims & Benefits Specialist to join their team. As a Pharmacy Claims & Benefits Specialist, you will be part of the pharmacy support department supporting members, insurance carriers, and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Pharmacy Claims & Benefits Specialist (Hybrid)
Location: Plymouth, MI ( Hybrid 1-2 days in office a week)
Pay Range: $20.50/hr
Shift: 11:30am - 8:00pm, Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays (9am - 5pm) and overtime as required
What's the Job?
Verify insurance eligibility for members, providers, and payers through outbound calls and follow-up communication
Resolve prescription-related issues and ensure accurate claims processing
Coordinate adjudication support with Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) services
Assist pharmacists and internal teams with prescription and business audits
Maintain detailed records of correspondence, complaints, and actions taken, ensuring compliance with payer rules
What's Needed?
High School Diploma required
Current Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and Registered Pharmacy Technician with applicable State Board
Minimum 2+ years of experience in a pharmacy setting (retail, mail order, specialty pharmacy, PBM, or managed care environment preferred)
Experience with claims adjudication, secondary billing, discount cards, and Medicaid
Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
