Job Title: Health and Safety ManagerJob Description
The Health & Safety Manager is a field-focused leader responsible for driving a strong safety culture across active construction projects. This individual will partner closely with clients, trade partners, and internal teams to ensure safe execution of work while promoting a coaching approach rather than enforcement. The role demands adaptability, strong technical skills, and effective communication across all levels, from senior client representatives to field trades.
Responsibilities
Manage safety management software such as Hammertech.
Review and assess pre-task plans and permits.
Lead weekly safety committee meetings.
Interact with client teams and trade partners.
Conduct orientations and training sessions following company standards.
Facilitate tool box talks.
Spend considerable time in the field, focusing on safety coaching.
Essential Skills
Onsite construction experience.
Proficiency in construction software (Hammertek, Procore, EHS Insight, or other electronic EHS platforms).
Strong skills in Bluebeam and Excel.
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and project needs.
Team player with strong communication skills across various levels of construction personnel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Extensive EHS training such as OSHA 30, 500, NFPA 70, CHT, and other EHS certifications.
Experience in the industry.
Work Environment
The role involves managing projects primarily in the Kalamazoo/Detroit area, with 50% of time spent at a pharmaceutical client in Kalamazoo and the other 50% spread across a 200-mile radius. This is not an office-based position and requires field presence. Travel may be required, with expenses covered by the company. A company vehicle or fuel card allowance is negotiable.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
