Overview
History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.
Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Courtesy Van Driver consist of, but are not limited to the following:
Safe transportation of riders in designated vehicles
Provide appropriate documentation, paperwork, for all trips and incidents
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to follow direction with minimal oversight
Qualifications
Excellent Customer Service Skills
Good documentation
Ability to communicate proficiently and interact on cross-functional teams
Attention to detail
Valid driver's license
Excellent driving record (provide Motor Vehicle Report)
Available to work nights and weekends
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
Willingness to submit to random drug tests
Must be willing to wear a mask at all times
Desired Skills:
Understands and complies with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures
Good customer service attitude
Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is consistently required to sit; use hands, fingers, handle, feel; and talk, hear & see. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. Lifting requirements of up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly in verbal contact with others and constantly works face-to-face with Hospital staff and riders. Consistently operates motor vehicles, use of radio equipment, and documents deliveries.
