Occupational Therapist (OT) - School-Based/Hybrid
Location: Detroit, MI
Pay Rate: $50/hr
Schedule: 3 days per week (20-25 hours)
Start Date: ASAP through end of school year; potential extension
Caseload: Approximately 40 students
Assignment: Float role covering 5 schools (Elementary through High School)
Work Environment: Hybrid - remote work allowed when not providing direct services
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students across multiple school sites in the Detroit area. This float position offers a flexible weekly schedule, the ability to work remotely when not delivering direct services, and the opportunity to work with a diverse student population spanning elementary to high school.
The OT will conduct evaluations, develop individualized plans of care, provide therapy services, and complete all required documentation according to district and professional standards.
Responsibilities
Conduct student evaluations to identify functional, developmental, and academic needs
Develop individualized plans of care and therapy goals
Provide direct occupational therapy services across assigned school sites
Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress notes, and evaluations
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
Support students in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and school participation
Serve as a resource to school teams regarding OT interventions and strategies
Qualifications
Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of Michigan
One (1) year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred
School-based or pediatric experience preferred
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Ability to travel between schools as needed
Comfortable working independently in a float-style role
Current CPR if applicable
