Mechanical Engineer - Military Ground Vehicles Sterling Heights, MI $44.63-$51.77/Hour Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. Responsibilities: * Develop and integrate components to meet performance, human factors, environmental, ballistic, and mine blast requirements * Design and analyze shock/vibration isolation systems, mounting brackets, and structural mechanisms * Apply mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication principles in component design * Perform design analysis, tolerance stack-ups, drawing markups, and engineering change documentation * Generate material requests and shop work requests; track parts through build cycles * Support prototype and production vehicle builds, fit checks, and integration reviews * Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action development * Direct and oversee CAD model and drawing development * Present design concepts and technical updates to engineering and program leadership * Support troubleshooting and redesign efforts as required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering * Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance * Experience: * 5-7+ years of mechanical engineering experience * Experience supporting prototype and/or production vehicle builds * Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes * Technical Skills: * Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles * Experience with solid modeling tools (NX and/or Creo preferred) * Experience with Teamcenter (preferred) * Experience with Vis Mockup (plus) * Experience designing for welded structures and mounting provisions * Additional Requirements: * Ability to travel up to 10% * Ability to work in and around military vehicles * Ability to support occasional overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience supporting ground combat vehicle programs * Experience with shock attenuation systems and blast survivability requirements * Experience with vehicle seating, crew accommodations, battery enclosures, hydraulics, fire suppression, or driver controls Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer.
