As an Application Engineer (AE), you'll play a key role in shaping how the automotive industry develops and deploys largescale vehicle simulations. By collaborating with engineering teams working on complex vehicle system models, you will help them build accurate, scalable virtual vehicles used for vehicle attribute setting, design exploration, and calibration.
You will draw on your experience developing largescale vehicle system models to demonstrate best practices and guide customers in implementing efficient workflows with optimal fidelity. Through handson engagement and technical leadership, you'll empower engineers to build and deploy largescale vehicle system models to streamline their development processes.
This position is based in Novi, MI, and requires10-20% domestic travel.

Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their workflow and use this knowledge to recommend effective solutions.
- Develop longterm collaborative relationships with customers' engineering champions.
- Develop and implement best practices with regard to largescale simulation performance.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and demonstrations.
- Advocate for the future direction of MathWorks products based on customer interactions.
- Identify new application areas and work with Development and Marketing to create compelling messaging and demonstrations.
Qualifications
- Strong engineering skills in the development and testing of largescale models.
- Experience developing and debugging models involving cosimulations between different simulation tools (e.g., FMI/FMU, S-function).
- Experience deploying models to highperformance compute or cloud computing platforms.
- Experience using modelling and simulation in automotive product development process.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers.
Pluses:
- Experience with other engineering tools such as CarMaker, ADAMS, AMESim, Simplorer, Dynasty, Modelica, Easy5, veDYNA, or CarSim.
- Experience with cloud or highperformance compute ecosystems (e.g., Kubernetes, Kafka, etc.).
- Experience with MathWorks physical modelling tools (e.g., Simscape, PTBS, VDBS).
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
