DUTIES: Leading system development work for a group of 6 – 15 engineers, plan resources, timelines, develop system level hardware, controls and calibration solutions that meet functional objectives defined by the Propulsion System Chief, conduct performance reviews, mentor new engineers to ensure propulsion systems function. Spans all powertrain subsystems (engine, trans driveline and ePT), and encompasses functional objectives of performance, emissions, fuel economy, regulatory compliance, and drivability. Assure that the decomposed requirements from Chief Engineer for each subsystem are met or exceeded. Support every aspect of PTCP and CPCP lifecycle including all mule/proto vehicle milestones as well as plywood buck, DDV and production milestones; generate and track progress thru project lifecycle of each subsystem contribution toward fuel economy emissions, performance, regulatory compliance and drivability. Plan and lead hardware development tasks across engine, trans, driveline, ePT which meet hardware release requirements to support builds. Chair weekly systems meeting for assuring hardware, controls, and calibration teams are developing results aligned to propulsion system's functional objectives. As member of propulsion table, provide systems engineering solutions and seek approval from the table where required. Together with powertrain systems role, assure that the project center's propulsion system is achieving the targets as established in the simulation models. Convey relevant program milestones and priorities to cal lead and controls lead. Communicate key technical decisions, resource gaps and/or risk mitigations to Propulsion Chief Engineer and senior management. Report cross functional project center status, risk management and issue resolution status to engine / transmission platform teams as well as senior management. Responsible for interface with integration and engine systems team to develop hardware (induction, exhaust, after treatment), that supports functional objectives defined by propulsion chief. Review all bulletins for impact analysis with regards to project center. Lead and support Technology Readiness Projects which may be coupled with the new propulsion system. Manage, schedule and prioritize all resources virtual, dyno, vehicle to meet cross functional requirements for system development and calibration maturity to meet QG requirements. Interface with NVH to assure compliance with PT and vehicle targets for propulsion system. ** Position requires up to 20% International/Domestic Travel **
