Position: IT Systems & Support Coordinator
Reports to: CEO
Location: based in Onaway, MI with regular travel to other offices in the Northeast Michigan region
Position Summary
Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium is seeking an IT Systems & Support Coordinator to lead and support all technology across our eight-county region (Alcona, Alpena, Cheboygan, Crawford, Montmorency, Oscoda, Otsego, and Presque Isle counties). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, building systems that work, and supporting a mission-driven team serving communities across Northeast Michigan.
The IT Systems & Support Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing all technology systems across the organization’s service area. This role combines hands-on technical support with strategic coordination of IT infrastructure, ensuring staff have reliable, secure, and efficient technology to carry out their work.
This position serves as the primary internal IT lead and works in partnership with an external IT contractor for advanced support, system upgrades, and large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Systems Management
- Oversee and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring all network systems, hardware, email and phone systems, printers, copiers, and office technology remain up-to-date, efficient, and aligned with modern, innovative best practices.
- Oversee equipment setup, maintenance, and replacement planning
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access across all platforms
- Ensure data security, backups, redundancy, and system integrity
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues with staff and partner staff
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues across all offices
- Staff Training & Onboarding
- Onboarding new employees (logins, systems access, basic training)
- Provide ongoing training and support to staff on systems and best practices
- Develop simple, user-friendly training materials and guides
- Travel & Multi-Site Support
- Travel regularly to all service locations to provide hands-on support and ensure consistency across offices

Qualifications
Education and Experience: Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Required 2-5+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network management.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience managing or transitioning network systems
- Experience supporting multi-site organizations
