Location: Troy, MI
Pay Rate: $25/hr-$30/hr
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Position Overview
The Customer Service Lead plays a critical role in ensuring every customer interaction reflects our commitment to speed, accuracy, and honesty. This position is responsible for managing customer communications, maintaining accurate records, and proactively supporting customers throughout the entire order lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is highly responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating by phone and email, with a strong desire to improve processes and enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities (Job Duties)
Answer incoming customer calls promptly (within 2 rings) and provide professional assistance
Respond to all customer inquiries via phone and email in a timely manner (acknowledgment within 30 minutes, resolution within 2 hours)
Accurately log and maintain all customer interactions, orders, and inquiries in the company CRM system
Proactively follow up with customers regarding:
Order updates
Clarifications
Payment collection
Issue resolution
Post-order satisfaction
Ensure customers are consistently informed-minimizing the need for inbound status inquiries
Develop working knowledge of our core product lines, including bus plugs and busway systems
Identify and communicate opportunities to improve customer service processes and overall customer experience
Support the collection of customer feedback and reviews related to service quality
Maintain high standards of accuracy, organization, and professionalism in all work
Job Requirements
Experience & Skills
Previous experience in customer service, inside sales, or a similar client-facing role
Strong verbal communication skills with confidence on the phone
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise emails
Demonstrated ability to handle difficult conversations professionally and effectively
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Technical Proficiency
Proficient with computers and common business software (CRM systems, word processing, spreadsheets)
Comfortable navigating operating systems and using keyboard shortcuts
Typing speed of 55+ words per minute
