Forklift Operator
Role Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the accurate moving, locating, and storing of materials, utilizing a forklift or other power-operated equipment.
Key Results Area
Safe and efficient operation of all power-operated equipment that requires certification
Safe and efficient movement of the product, including loading and unloading of trucks
Accurately pick and pack items for shipment, potentially with a forklift
Label and prepare items for shipment
Work with inventory control on correct product placement
Complete required paperwork and project time-tracking documentation
Maintain warehouse order to ensure pallet locations are kept available for incoming items
Ensure all items not required in the short term are restocked according to established procedures
Update the Warehouse Management System (WMS) with the transactions completed
Perform daily safety checklist and standard battery changing procedures
Assist with contacting freight couriers to schedule pick-ups and deliveries
Aid in cycle counting and periodic inventories
Update supervisor and team lead on issues or concerns
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Support and maintain corporate quality, health and safety standards, processes, policies, and work instructions (ISO standards where applicable)
All other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Previous warehouse/manufacturing experience required
Forklift experience required
Current forklift certification and/or the ability to become certified within 30 days is required
Basic math and reading skills
Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions
Able to pay attention to details to ensure accuracy
Strong team building skills and able to work well as part of a team
Able to lift/move up to 40 pounds solo and greater weights in a team-lift environment
Physically able to lift, carry, bend, stretch, and stand for long periods of time, and able to handle heights
