Job Title: Engineering Technician - Certification & ComplianceJob Description
We are seeking an entry to mid-level engineering technician to join the Certification and Compliance Test Team at our Superior Township location. This role supports certification and compliance activities crucial to maintaining high standards in automotive engineering.
Responsibilities
Conduct vehicle inspections and routine vehicle maintenance.
Remove and replace emission components and perform minor vehicle repairs.
Test vehicle instrumentation and drive vehicles using Chassis Dyno and Coast-down techniques.
Perform minor fabrication work and maintain vehicle tracking and fixed asset databases.
Support compliance projects including prepping vehicles for emission lab testing and maintaining IUVP loaner fleet.
Assist certification projects by preparing vehicles for EPA delivery and emission lab testing.
Handle MICS tasks such as cleaning, washing, fueling vehicles, and maintaining databases.
Essential Skills
Basic automotive experience with hands-on ability to perform routine technician tasks.
1-year experience in customer service.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Word.
Basic knowledge of office equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with hybrid and electric vehicles.
Automotive certifications such as State of MI or ASE.
Experience at a KIA dealership is a plus.
Work Environment
The role operates within a laboratory and shop environment, involving exposure to fuel, compressed air/gas, emissions, and exhaust fumes. Potential hazards include pinching, tripping, electrical, and chemical dangers, requiring bending and stooping. Candidates must safely handle hand power tools and be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. Safety glasses are mandatory.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
