Job Summary
The Mechanical Technician I supports the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. This role works under the guidance of senior technicians or engineers to ensure mechanical components function efficiently and meet performance standards. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to follow technical instructions and documentation.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in assembling, installing, and testing mechanical systems, equipment, and components according to engineering drawings and specifications
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of mechanical equipment
Support troubleshooting efforts by identifying mechanical issues and assisting in implementing corrective actions
Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely to complete tasks such as drilling, cutting, grinding, and welding
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history
Follow all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Assist with inventory management and procurement of mechanical parts, tools, and supplies
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
1 to 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, maintenance, or a related field
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, principles, and components
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Vocational training or certification in mechanical technology, machining, or a related field preferred
Work Experience
1 to 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly, maintenance, or a similar environment
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
