2026 Summer Student Help
Career Opportunity:
We are hiring students for the summer to help with maintaining property grounds and help in Storeroom Department.
Applications will be accepted beginning March 30 and must be submitted via Smurfit Westrock Careers page or westrock.com. No paper applications will be accepted. Applications must be completed no later than April 30. Start dates will be coordinated after the selection process is complete.
Applicants must meet the following to be considered:
Be a son or daughter of the current Smurfit Westrock Battle Creek Mill employee (stepchildren are eligible if employee is claiming child on income taxes). Sons or daughters of retirees are not eligible. Grandchildren, nieces/nephews, etc. are not eligible.
Must be 18 years or older prior to start of employment.
Have attended high school, college, or technical school full-time for the 2025-2026 school year (all terms) and be registered for the fall 2026-2027 school year. (Proof of attendance will be required.)
Those students who have graduated and have enlisted in the Military will start their service later in the year. (Proof of enlistment will be required.)
Satisfactory completed Background Check and Drug Screen prior to start date.
Selection Guidelines for Summer Students:
The assignment will not exceed a 4-month period.
Summer help will be limited to one student per family unless there are more openings than can be filled by the one student per family guideline.
Summer students will not be allowed to work as summer help after they have received their terminal degree.
