Benefits Analyst
Our trusted client is looking for a skilled Benefits Analyst to join their team in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan on a contract basis. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and modeling financial data to support employee benefit programs. This role requires a strong understanding of benefit strategies, industry regulations, and communication with clients to ensure accurate and impactful solutions.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this position include:
Analyze client needs and objectives to develop tailored benefit strategies.
Apply underwriting guidelines across various carrier product lines, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability.
Build detailed financial models and Excel spreadsheets to compare and evaluate benefit options.
Create clear and precise communication materials to educate employees on benefit programs.
Ensure accuracy in benefit administrative software prior to open enrollment periods.
Facilitate carrier communication during plan implementation and renewal processes, reviewing proposals and contracts for accuracy.
Maintain and update internal databases with current client information.
Prepare and revise legal documents such as Summary Plan Descriptions, Section 125 plans, and Summary of Material Modifications.
Provide day-to-day support for account executives and clients in managing benefit plans.
Stay informed on employee benefit regulations to provide reliable guidance and compliance support.
Requirements
The ideal candidate with have the following skillsets;
Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits analysis or coordination.
Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel spreadsheet creation.
Strong knowledge of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans.
Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance guidelines.
Excellent communication skills to prepare and present client-facing materials.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience with benefit administrative software and carrier communication processes.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
