Your responsibilities
Job Summary
The Receiving Administrator is responsible for the accurate entry of materials and goods received into inventory. The ideal candidate will be organized and detailed oriented. They will receive material and confirm the material specifications match the purchase order requirements. This candidate must demonstrate the ability to apply math and problem-solving techniques to receive the various metals purchased.Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
Manage Receiving appointments with all carriers and maintain an updated receiving log
Organize incoming paperwork
Develop procedure for prompt processing and handling of incoming paperwork
Review incoming bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, purchase orders and other documents to determine accuracy of information
Read PO details to ensure that incoming material meets special requirements when noted (properties, chemistry, etc.)
Must be able to prioritize based on urgency of receipt
Enter mill test report information
Request missing information from mill suppliers
At time of receipt, advise quality when material goes into "restricted" stock
Where applicable, weight conversions will be required (Kg to lbs)
Maintain timely, effective and professional communications with all internal and external customers and suppliers
Receive material when shipped direct to outside processors and/or warehouses - same receiving requirements apply
Responsible for accurate record keeping, filing and other administrative duties as required.
Apply problem solving techniques to resolve discrepancies in receiving in a timely manner
This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
2 year / Associate Degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
Basic math and reading skills
Have some knowledge of metals handled in regard to type, gauges, finishes, packaging and shipping.
Proficient with Excel and Outlook
Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant manager, sales staff and receiving staff
Demonstrate the ability to read and understand basic details from incoming mill paperwork
Safety Mindset
Preferred Requirements:
4 year / Bachelor's Degree or working towards
1 - 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred
SAP experience
