The RNs function in the TEE area (supporting the CRNA's during anesthesia and TEE procedure) following the procedure they recover the patient.
During the Dobutamine and Exercise Stress labs, they work with the Sonographer to chemically or physically stress the patient to reach the targeted heart rate and recover the patient following the procedure.
During the Nuclear Medicine Stress test, the RN will also stress the patient to the targeted heart rate either physically or chemically.
The RNs also support the Sonographers on K-14 by assisting with administering image enhancing agents on K 14 and on the inpatient units and start IVs for the Sonographers, If the K 14 patient becomes unstable, they stay with the patient and take them to ER for further treatment.
