Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location: Livonia, MI
Shift: 3rd Sun-Thurs 10pm-6am
Pay Rate: $18.50/hr
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating and managing industrial trucks to load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility. This role ensures materials are efficiently transported between storage areas, machines, loading docks, railroad cars, and trucks while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and equipment care.
Key Responsibilities
Operate forklifts and other industrial trucks safely and efficiently
Load and unload materials from trucks, railroad cars, and storage areas
Move materials to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks
Ensure materials are properly stored, stacked, and secured
Inspect forklifts before and after use and report maintenance or safety issues
Perform routine care and basic maintenance of forklift equipment
Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA regulations
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Assist with inventory handling and material tracking as required
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification, with proven experience in warehouse or manufacturing setting within last 6 months
Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required
Attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
Comfortable working in an industrial or warehouse environment
