How you'll make an impact in this role
Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve actual or potential drug-related problems
Recommend formulary alternatives when clinically appropriate
Compound and dispense medications to ensure accurate and safe delivery to patients
Provide drug information and education to both medical staff and patients
Communicate effectively with physicians and other clinicians to support and coordinate patient care
Deliver patient counseling as required
Oversee and guide technical personnel involved in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies
Support academic initiatives, including serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students
Float as needed to provide coverage for pharmacy operations
Participate in an on-call rotation, carrying an on-call phone and remaining available for pharmacy needs during assigned periods
Work primarily on-site with the opportunity for a hybrid arrangement based on performance metrics and training completion
What minimum requirements you'll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Must be willing to initiate the process to obtain one or more Pharmacist licenses within 90 days of hire/transfer for the following states: AL, AR, IA, ID, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MS, NE, OK, OR, TN, TX, VA & WV.
Education:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
What additional preferences we're seeking
2-3 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist
Prior experience in a specialty disease state or therapeutic area strongly preferred
Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency highly preferred
Exposure to specialty pharmacy rotations during pharmacy school is a plus
Experience with direct patient interaction and counseling
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a clinical setting
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role (e.g., PIC responsibilities) preferred
Licensure in other states
