This role focuses on designing and developing air conditioning systems for demanding operational environments, from initial concept through testing and validation. The engineer selects and integrates mechanical, electrical, and control components to deliver efficient, reliable cooling while meeting strict power, noise, and environmental requirements. The position involves hands-on CAD design, collaboration across disciplines, prototype support, and performance testing to ensure systems operate under extreme conditions. It is well suited for an engineer who enjoys balancing thermal performance, durability, manufacturability, and efficiency in mission-critical applications while supporting continuous improvement in design and production.
Responsibilities
Design and develop air conditioning systems for demanding operational environments.
Select and integrate mechanical, electrical, and control components for efficient cooling.
Conduct hands-on CAD design and collaborate across disciplines.
Support prototype development and performance testing.
Ensure systems operate effectively under extreme conditions.
Balance thermal performance, durability, manufacturability, and efficiency.
Support continuous improvement in design and production.

Work Environment
This role is a mix of design-based tasks in an office environment and practical work on a manufacturing floor. It involves periods of standing, lifting up to 15 pounds, and bending. The work environment may occasionally expose the employee to heat, cold, wet conditions, and fumes/chemicals. Travel to customer or supplier sites may be required. Duties also involve regular sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and moving about the facility.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $56.00/hr.
