Job Description

The Psychology Instructor is responsible for teaching Psychology courses at Bay de Noc Community College primarily at the Escanaba campus. The focus of this position is teaching introductory psychology and other psychology classes, which may include developmental psychology, social psychology, abnormal psychology, and educational psychology. Opportunities to teach psychology in local high schools, online, and first-year experience courses may occur. In addition, the faculty member has various responsibilities related to professional development, curriculum development, student advising and success, as well as activities that support the College and the Social and Behavioral Sciences division operational success. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.

Additional Requirements

Ph. D. in Psychology or PSY D. or Ed D
Course work in education
Experience teaching at a community college
Experience and interest in teaching college psychology courses at local high schools
Experience teaching in a learning management system
Online teaching certification
Successful experience working with high-school age students
Use of evidence-based teaching practices related to active and collaborative learning, critical thinking, and critical literacy and information skills.
Experience with learning outcomes assessment
