Job Title: EstimatorJob Description
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and budgets for residential homebuilding projects. This role supports purchasing, construction, and design teams by ensuring that material and labor costs are current, competitive, and aligned with company standards. The estimator will work closely with vendors, trade partners, and internal departments to maintain cost efficiency and consistency across all communities.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for new home models, options, and community launches.
Update and maintain base house, option, and community-specific budgets.
Analyze plans, specifications, and scope documents to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Assist in maintaining and updating estimating databases, price lists, and unit cost libraries.
Review architectural and engineering plans for accuracy and completeness.
Support cost variance analysis and budget updates during the design and construction phases.
Coordinate with design, construction, and purchasing teams to ensure accurate takeoffs and pricing for new product introductions.
Assist in developing standardized estimating processes and documentation.
Essential Skills

Ability to interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated.
Strong Excel and data analysis skills required.
Familiarity with residential construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Work Environment
The work environment is collaborative within the team, focusing on culture fit and development of team members. The position offers the ability to work remotely two days a week, typically Monday and Friday, once established in the role (30-90 days in).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $52000.00/yr.
