Position Summary
Morbark's Hydraulic Engineer position works as part of Morbark's Electrical & Hydraulic Engineering team, ensuring that machine hydraulic systems meet or exceed applicable standards and requirements for the target customers and markets. The Hydraulic Engineer will work with the rest of the engineering team to design, develop and validate new and modified hydraulic systems on current production machines, equipment under development, and any custom built equipment that requires custom hydraulic controls. The Hydraulic Engineer, as part of the Product Engineering Teams, will ensure that the Hydraulic Systems on all new and modified products meet all requirements and standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Own the Hydraulic System design and ensure that the hydraulics comply with regulations, standards and machine performance goals. Develop specifications to meet goals, design systems and specify components.
Recommend and make improvements to current Hydraulic Systems.
Collaborate with colleagues in the design process. Collaborate with other departments to develop a best in class quality product.
Identify Hydraulic System related training opportunities and help develop training needed to improve the overall organization's development.
Maintain awareness of vendor products offered, tools, processes and technologies in support of new product development.
Create reports for management outlining current project status or current issues.
Maintain a record of system changes as required.
Contribute to systems related troubleshooting and problem solving.
Identify cost saving opportunities for the product or office.
Support other groups and departments as needed
Essential Qualifications
Prior experience in Hydraulic System design and routing
Demonstrated ability to identify applicable design requirements for a given application or product;
Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers;
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills;
Effectively establish understand and communicate with individuals at multiple levels of the organization including shop floor and office;
Formal problem solving training/skills.

Ideal Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
1 - 3 years of Fluid Power/Hyrdraulic Engineering related experience
Certified fluid power specialist (CFPS) and/or Certified fluid power hydraulic specialist (CFPHS) and/or Certified hydraulic fluid power engineer (CFPE) desirable
Project management experience, interfacing with multiple projects
Experience working with SolidEdge software package is highly preferred
AutoCAD proficiency is highly preferred
Familiarity with elctro-hydraulics
Good working knowledge of Microsoft product suite
Qualified to work in the United States
