- Applicants must enjoy working with animals and have a knowledge of basic animal behavior.
- Must be willing to work to maintain a clean environment for the animals.
- Must be able to follow Shelter policies and procedures and must be able to take direction while working with limited supervision.
- The position often requires lifting, carrying and handling materials up to 50 pounds and the handling of dogs that could weigh up to 150 pounds.
- Position requires walking and/or standing for long periods and will frequently require bending to complete assignments.
- Strength and agility may be required in capturing and restraining stronger and more active animals.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have reliable transportation.
- This position requires basic reading and writing skills.
- This is an animal shelter environment and casual attire is recommended ( jeans, khakis, tee shirts, sweatshirts ) as clothing will get soiled.
- Applicants must be able to work with a variety of common cleaning products.
